Assalamualaikum,
Last Tuesday I went to listen to a talk by Prof Muhd Kamil Ibrahim.
He shared his story, and other people's stories where they were once laughed because of their weird impossible ambitions. But at the end, they made what they've dreamed a reality. Even Prof was included in the list.
Mohandas Nagappan : The first Malaysian to be on top of Everest Mountain
Sharifah Mazlina: The first Asian women to complete Pole to Pole mission across
AntarcticaChef wan: famous chef in Malaysia...
Prof Kamil: author of Travelog Haji best seller book
The keys to success as mentioned by Prof:
1. DREAM
2. PASSION
3. BRAVE
4. BELIEVE
Mohandas Nagappan was once laughed when he answered "Climbing the Mount Everest" after being asked by his school teacher. Any WEIRD dream would be laughed by family members, friends, and aundiences. But with his dream and the other 3 keys of success, he worked hard by climbing all the high mountains all over the world and finally he became one of the first Malaysian to land on Mount Everest!
Sharifah Mazlina was said to be crazy to make a statement to ski across the Antartica. Even Prof Kamil felt the same way. But she made it in the end!!! And she became the first Asian woman to make the record of complete mission pole to pole of Antartica.
Chef Wan had difficult life when he was young. He was the eldest in the family out of a number of of siblings. His father was a policemen and there was not enough money to support the whole family. Chef Wan was given only RM5 each month at school. He offered wash other students' clothes to get extra money but he was caught by the warden to break the curfew time. Anyways, he took Diploma/Degree in Accounting and later became famous as a chef! :) However, he's a very noble person by sponsoring the poorest couple in his village to go for Hajj and give charity to the orphanage home in his village. Subhanallah!
Prof Kamil had a bit of similarities of the storyline as the others as well. I though he was smart since he was young. But he showed his SPM results and it was very bad! Most of them were C. hehe. He was determined to make a comeback after his failure to go to UK to take law. He took Diploma in Accountancy at UiTM and became THE BEST STUDENT!!!! 2nd BEST STUDENT for Degree of Accountancy. He did his Master finished by 1 1/2 year and PhD was finished by 2 1/2 year!!! :) Subhanallah!
The success of a person does not depend on his intelligence solely, but also in the mind!!! DREAM, PASSION, BRAVE, BELIEVE... it's all in the mind.. and not physically available to read on... :)
Last example given by Prof was a story of a weight lifter who already made a record of lifting 210kg. His coach wanted him to increase the weight up to 220kg. The weight lifter failed after several attempts. The next day, the coach had already put 220kg on the weight and said to his trainee, "Lift this 210kg weight first". The trainee could lift the weight!!! How? He had already mindset he could only lift 210kg, but actually the weight was 220kg and not realising it, because he was told by the coach it's only 210kg.
2nd last example, Prof Kamil was told that it'll be hot in Mecca during the Hajj, but he made doa and mindset that the Masjidil Haraam is cool. Alhamdulillah, the cool air filled his jubah when he prayed in the middle of Masjidil Haram during Zuhr prayer at 50 degree Celcius.
WALLAHUA'LAM
A tazkeerah and motivational talk for us all..
