BULAN KEDUA PHD

Assalamualaikum

Alhamdulillah, without me realising, I am already in my 2nd month of PhD. There are a whole lot of things that I need to learn, as some people like to put it in words "That's why people do PhD in 3 years, so you cannot expect to know everything in 2 weeks". haha.

But, since yesterday, I've been feeling good about doing PhD now. And no need to do work as a lecturer for the time being. The feelings just came. Maybe, it's because I've been reading 2 articles thoroughly that really make me learn new things and ask a lot of things. hehe. Whatever it is, hope it's a good thing for me to keep motivating myself to continue this PhD journey till the end successfully. Amiiin.

Just met my SV. A superb one of course! She never complaints but always encouraging. She will keep answering my questions eventhough she already explained many many many times before. Erkk. Eventhough the feeling of meeting the SV is very scary sometimes because she wants to see me every week and update the progress. Scary tak?? hehe. But, I am so grateful to have her as my SV. So, what's next? Of course-lah, not to dissappoint her and my own self, right? :D

CONFERENCE

Alhamdulillah,

I went to a conference yesterday and today.
It was inspiring to listen and watched how some of the presenters were very passionate of what they are doing and at the same time made their researches possible for the sake of producing products and add new knowledge to the ummah. Subhanallah.

The conclusions that I learned from this conference are:

1. Be passionate of what you are doing.
2. Be confident.
3. Nobody know what you are doing and cannot understand what you are telling on the stage, so, bring the difficult terms into layman for easier understanding.
4. The research that you are doing must be very interesting to allow the audience would pay their best attention during your presentation, i.e breastfeeding, breech delivery, recitation of Yaasin in ICU patients, nutrition and pregnancy and obesity.
5. If the research can produce a product and then be commercialized or a technique that benefits the people, the research has very good impact towards the audiences.
6. Nobody is perfect, accept their defects.
7. The presentation would be better if the slides has dark background and white fonts/the other way round and only 2-3 short sentences in each slides
8. Have more pictures and describe the pictures instead of having long sentences written on the slides
9. Have videos, that'll be very interesting
10. For my next presentation, I think I should have:

• 1 slide of title
  
• 1 slide for lit review
• 1 slide of problem statement
• 1 slide of research question and research hypothesis
• 1 slide of methodology, best to show in flowchart
• slide of results should be only graphs and pictures. The explanation of results and discussion no need to write on the slides, instead give them at your best speech!!! (haha, can I do it???) While presenting this, make sure to point to the graphs so that people can understand the graphs that we already put up on the slides.

• 1 slide of conclusion
• 1 slide of recommendation

Tadaaaa.... Hopefully the presentation will not be next week! haha

3 SUPERVISORS

Assalamualaikum,
Last week, had gotten comments from my main supervisor.
She just corrected typo grammatical errors.
So just do correction to make my thesis more presentable.

Today, received comments from my lab supervisor.
So many comments to be swallowed.
So many improvements need to be done.
So many corrections to be corrected.
SubhanalLah..

O Allah...
Please Allah strengthen my body and soul to do my very best.
To produce my FIRST THESIS ever in my life!

When will I be getting comments from my idea provider supervisor, the last supervisor?

Oh Allah, please put me in the place that I'll be able to handle.

Please Allah, help me to accept criticsm because they are for me to make the best out of myself. Amiin.


p/s:I'm not strong to accept critics. It makes me so scared because I did so many mistakes. :( But, it's the time for me to change in this sacred month of Muharram 1433H! InsyaAllah. I can accept critics....
