WEEKENDS ARE ALWAYS OFF

Assalamualaikum,

READING
I tried to bring home the works for my research, but I failed to finish and complete the work before the following week. Since I can't be in front of MY DELL all the time during the weekends, I read a book sent to me by Prof Muhd Kamil Ibrahim, which I received happily last Friday. His signature was on the 1st and the 2nd page. But in the 1st page he had written: Ini buku terakhir dalam simpanan saya. Moga dirahmati Allah sentiasa. Signed, 22/12/10.

It's an honor to receive his book and what he had written made me so excited and very happy... I tried to look for the book at Popular Bookstore and bukuonline.blogspot.com, but they said there are no more copies... (Just...Maybe because I bought 3 of his Travelog Haji book and 1 Travelog Dakwah book and gave them as gifts to my friends... But I didn't mention that to him of course.. hehe.. :) )

I am so glad that I really searched for his book... SubhanalLah, almost every page I marked by folding the right or left corners of the pages. His words are words of wisdom man. The experiences that he shared, Alhamdulillah, made me think and felt so much relieved... :)
(Allah answered my prayer through his book, I believed... Alhamdulillah! Syukur Ya Allah!)

In the 1st chapter, he said that he was inspired by what Tun Mahathir said: "Perkara yang sukar jika dilakukan secara berulang-ulang, berhati-hati atau dengan disiplin yang tinggi, maka setiap orang boleh mencapai kejayaan."

COOKING
Cooked 2 special menus today... LUPA NAK AMIK GAMBAR!!! tinggal tulang je....

1. AYAM SEDAP THUMBS UP
Bahan2 perap
Ayam seekor
2 s/k Biji ketumbar dan 1 s/k lada hitam ditumbuk
1 s/k Serbuk kunyit
2 s/k Garam
4 s/b minyak jagung

Bahan2 tumis
Minyak goreng ayam
1 s/k biji ketumbar dan 1/2 s/k lada hitam ditumbuk

Sayur-sayuran
1 biji bawang besar
1 biji potato
1 btg carrot
1 biji cili benggala (red pepper)
1 cawan air
Daun ketumbar dihiris

Cara2nya
1. Gaul ayam dengan ketumbar dan lada hitam yang ditumbuk dengan serbuk kunyi dan garam. Tuang sedikit minyak jagung ke atas ayam dan gaul. Perap 2 jam/1 malam dalam peti sejuk.
2. Panaskan minyak, goreng ayam dengan api kecil.
3. Gaulkan bawang besar, potato, carrot dengan lebihan minyak perap dan dibiarkan seketika.
4. Tumis ketumbar dan lada hitam yang telah ditumbuk dengan minyak goreng ayam tadi.
5. Masukkan sayur2an termasuk daun ketumbar.
6. Masukkan air panas.
7. Alihkan bahan2 semuanya ke dalam periuk besar yang bertutup.
8. Masak lebih kurang 1/2 jam hingga 45 minit. Pastikan periuk ditutup supaya ayam masak sempurna.

2. BUBUR SAGU JAGUNG (MODIFIED KETUK2 RAMADHAN: Norman Hakim buat bubur ni utk Memey)
Caranya
1. Sagu direndam dalam air biasa sehingga mengembang.
2. Masakkan sagu dengan air lebih kurang 1-2 cawan.
3. Masukkan gula lebih kurang 3 sudu besar.
4. Daun pandan
5. Masukkan Jagung kernel Adabi/jagung manis Ayam Brand, dibuang air dalam tin.
6. Masukkan 1 tin susu cair dan kacau hingga mendidih.

3. MEE BANDUNG ADABI INSTANT
Bahan2nya
3 paket Mee bandung Adabi
6 cawan air
Minced chicken Ramly setengah
5 fishballs
6 helai sawi dan batang
3 biji telur
Garam sikit

Cara2nya, ikut aje macam belakang paket Mee Bandung Adabi.. :)

THE WEEKENDS ARE FOR THE KIDS
Playing, reading, praying, eating, bathing, clean Huzaifah after he poo-poo... Here are just some of the activities. They are growing up so fast!

Habib
Habib is a very adorable son... Very cute boy!!! Chubby!!!
He's talking a lot nowadays.. and always heard him reading and sounding the end of a word.
Every night before they sleep, he's forced to read the doa tidor, doa makan and to recite the Al-Fatihah.. Alhamdulillah, the sound of the words are there eventhough the whole word was not mentioned. hehe

Huzaifah
Huzaifah, reading Iqra' till huruf Da now.. Can recite doa makan, doa tidor, Al-fatihah, Al ikhlas, doa naik kereta, doa keluar tandas...
He's very tall...
He had fever and cough last week, so we brought him to the clinic to take antibiotics. Mujur ubat sedap, senang nak makan! :)
Very playful.. This morning let him play Bob the Builder online and starfall.com.
I just watched him solving the Match A Pair! He can remember where the "1st W" is to match with its pair. (I couldn't entertain him because we were busy closing up our Belanjawan Keluarga 2010... How much we spend every month?!! Astaghfirullahal 'Azim. InsyaAllah... InsyaAllah... 2011 kena azam rendahkan belanja sebulan, boleh ke ek??!! Boleh BOLEh! Malaysia Boleh! ;))

Oklah... Huzaifah suruh buat air teh.. the weekends are for them and families.. so I have to work hard during the weekdays eh?? InsyaAllah!!!

RESEARCH IS A JOURNEY

Assalamualaikum...
Alhamdulillah, last week I had given a chance to attend a 1 week course on Research Methodology. It was a holiday for me, I would say but at the same timne churning new informations gathered from the 5 days lectures from 8am till 5pm. Syukrillah...

Anyone doing research right now might benefit the content of the course that I would share some of it insyaAllah...

1st lecture was from Prof Dr Aahad.
It was a long lecture but some of the keypoints that striked me...
"Research is a journey. Research is a process."
"Re-search means search again, and again, and again. "
"Seek new knowledge, Create new knowledge, Develop new knowledge, and Contribute new knowledge for the benefit of mankind."
"Thorough thinking and planning will make a good Research Proposal."
"You cannot rest or take a break until you have produce enough research output."

SYUKUR YA ALLAH

Assalamualaikum,

Feeling very tension and scared for the next level of proposal presentation, Kuliyyah level THIS MONDAY! For the past 3 weeks, I had been having meetings every friday and had to prepare slides for the presentation each time...
Subhanallah... What an experience...

But I remembered suddenly, Prof Dr Muhaya, UKM gave a radio talk in IKIM.fm..
She told a story of one of her patient having only 1 eye sight since he lost his another eye, unsalvagable..
He kept on asking Prof about his lost eye sight
But Prof said to him,
"You should be thankful, syukur for having the other eye to see. Don't be sad of the eye that you have lost, but be thankful of having another eye to see and watch."

I should be thankful, syukur for all His nikmat...

If I am still in my old shoe, I can't even change the shoe even when it's already torn
Alhamdulillah... I could change to a new shoe eventhough it's tight, suffocating, slippery & cheap
It's a new shoe and not my old shoe...
(talking about shoe.. haha)

PROPOSAL PRESENTATION

Assalamualaikum

Alhamdulillah I presented my research proposal in front of departmental staffs today morning! I spoke too fast and my sequence was hay wired.. What should come 1st was last and what's supposed to be the last was brought in front...

How I wish all my 3 supervisors are there, but Alhamdulillah... with only 1 supervisor who came during her leaves, really gave me good moral support. I am happy that she could make it...

From there, I have to do a lot more reading and structure back my slides so that people can understand my study, my workloads and my research.

Sad but in a good way.. Very happy with the fact that it was a hot discussion and a lot of work to be done and enough for my master...
May Allah help me pass through till the end...
